Blustery October

Hello, lovers! Sorry, I’ve been a bit MIA lately. Unfortunately, life has a way of doing that.

Over the last few months, I’ve been diligently writing a new series. Anyone love motorcycle clubs? Well, I’ve got just the one heading your way in 2020. Book 1, Doc T, will be off the my publisher by the end of the month. Fingers crossed they like it. Book 2, Kevlar, will be penned during NaNoWriMo this year. I’m excited to bring you these new characters & their stories.

I must admit, 2019 hasn’t been my year. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled to have four books published (Hearts Abroad, Oceans Away & Credence plus Catalyst at Night by my pseudonym Tessa Robertson). In my personal life, there have been some struggles as well as my professional one. All in all, I’m desperately hoping 2020 is a better, more successful year for me.

Every writer goes through valleys during the course of their career. For me, I’ve seen a lot of dark forestry this year & I’m ready to see the sunlight…the sky(e) if you will 😉

My upcoming months hold uncertainty, but I’m positive I won’t give up. I’d like to, heavens yes, but there’s a part of me deep down that won’t let me.

On to happier times….Credence (book 3 in the Mobster Files) releases November 23rd. Just in time for my birthday (29th) & I’d so appreciate it if you’d pre-order and/or share the word about the fan-favorite bad boy romantic suspense trilogy.

As for the rest of the year, I’ll be busy writing & editing Kevlar. If I have time, I may start in on the 3rd book in my Macha MC series. We’ll see.

For 2020, I’d love to wrap up my Macha series & maybe even dive into something a little darker. I’m thinking a standalone thriller/stalker/serial killer book. I have a few ‘based on true events’ I can incorporate as well, so I think you all would enjoy the suspense 🙂

May is here at last. It’s been a very busy spring so far for me. I completed and submitted book 3 in the Mobster Files, Credence, so be on the lookout for news about the final installment to Joci and Cameron’s story.

Also, I finished book 3 in the Collegiate Peaks series, Antero. Currently working on edits for this one then will submit for publication.

Lastly, I just finished writing book 3 in the Atlas series, Souls Apart. Needless to say, I’ve been up to my eyeballs in editing and writing lately.

And So Begins Another Year

Happy 2019, lovers!

Another year greets the state of Iowa and I’ve come to the conclusion that Mother Nature is confused. Today for instance, it’s going to be 50F. I’m not sure if I should be worried about the rest of the winter of if I should grab my shorts….

And so some happy news is in order. It’s quite secret, so mum’s the word. *Insert drum roll*

Book 2 in the Atlas series will be announced soon!! So, that means 2 new books for 2019. Oh, but wait, there’s MORE!

I have it on good authority, that book 3 of the Mobster Files will also be gracing your Kindles/Nooks/hands *hopefully* by the end of the year. That’s 3 books sure to keep you up all night reading this year.

My goals for the year are lofty, but a girl has to dream, right? I’d LOVE to get that coveted orange #1 tab on Amazon for any of my books. Let’s be honest, I’ll settle for any orange tab 😉

Another goal is to finish book 3 of the Collegiate Peaks series, Mt. Antero. I’m about 50% through and I do believe Clara & Spencer are mad that I left them in a cabin unattended for a few months. Whoops!

A third goal for the year is to start writing a new MC series. Yes, you read that right. A motorcycle club series with characters you’ll drool over. Because badass and MC are synonyms.

I have a few book events already scheduled. The first is February 2 (Yes, the same day as Hearts Abroad releases) in Indianola for Authors, Arts and Crafts (9-4). I have another in August which will be my second year at Romance Rendezvous and a third in November in Omaha, NE. I’m hoping to add a few more in between, but those are what I have thus far.

July is nearly over in the great state of Iowa. I don’t know how your summer’s been, but mine’s been extremely busy. In case you didn’t know, book 2 of Collegiate Peaks series, St. Elmo, released on July 10, 2018. If you haven’t snagged that e-book yet, I’ll include the links at the end of this post.

I had my first official web chat with my publisher, Hot Tree Publishing. She’s amazing FYI. During our chat, we discussed my up and coming books for the next year-ish. My initial debut of book 1 in the Atlas Series, Hearts Abroad, was announced recently.

I’m very excited for this millionaire series and I hope you will be too. I have an end of August deadline that I gave myself for book 2 in the series. Currently regretting that, but I like deadlines–no, I need them–in order to stay on track with my writing. Right now, I have 3 books in mind for the series. I’m a bit fond of that number when it comes to books in a series.

During the chat, we also decided to make the release of Hearts Abroad a little longer, which is why the release date isn’t until February 2019. Hopefully, this will give us a chance to get in with some bigger reviewers with printed ARCs and allow for more publicity. Really crossing my fingers.

Current projects
1. Editing book 2 in the Atlas series. Kind of debating changing the name since I’ve deviated from the original story I penned. We shall see.
2. (Should be) Writing book 3 in the Collegiate Peaks series. It’s about 45% handwritten. I may have abandoned my MCs in the Colorado Rockies a few months ago. I wonder how they’re doing….
3. (Should be) Writing book 3 in the Mobster Files. Also, book 4, which is Rayna and Quinn’s story.

Upcoming Events
1. I’ll be at Barnes & Noble in West Des Moines this Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 11AM-2PM along with two of my writing buddies. Should be a good time.
2. Romance Rendezvous at Hilton Garden in Cedar Falls August 25, 2018 from 1-5PM. Tons of new romance authors to bond with 🙂

Well, that should wrap up my summer. I’m sure I’ll be busy this fall too. Right now, I see a Maroon 5 concert and trip to Disney World in the autumn months. I better get back to work or I won’t make that end of August deadline 😉
